Hi, everyone! On behalf of Writing and Journalism Co. , I am thrilled to announce the launch of EUC’s very own student blog, starting with this article that will surely encourage you all to reveal your inner aspiring writers. This blog will be a platform that each and every one of you can access to voice yourself throughout the academic year. In true EUC fashion, this can range from articles on science, global affairs, politics, or literature to creative writing or poetry. Sharing real-time pieces on your own multitude of experiences in Rotterdam and as a part of an internationally rich student community could also prove insightful. Perhaps this upcoming festive break will encourage you to reflect on your experiences in the last two quads and share any amazing (or challenging) experiences you might have faced. These are a few ideas, but: the sky is the limit!
Another exciting prospect that this blog aims to bring about is that of sports journalism. We hope to share with everyone the strenuous efforts taken by the various EUC sports teams through photographic highlights after as many games as possible, which will surely go a long way in boosting morale and building a bridge of hype and spirit between these teams and the student body.
As someone who was insecure about publicly sharing his writings for a long time, I know how difficult it can be to put your thoughts openly on display. However, once you take that first step, it’s truly remarkable how others might connect with you in ways they never would otherwise. I believe EUC is the ideal place for such a blog with a sense of connectedness at the very heart of our University College and its curriculum, and I’m sure this online platform will strengthen our ties.
